June 2009: Lindsay's name is thrown around in connection with a $400,000 jewel heist from a photoshoot for—you guessed it!—Elle magazine.A pair of diamond earrings and a necklace lent to the magazine by the house of Dior mysteriously vanished sometime after Lohan's June 6 shoot. A spokesperson for Elle UK stated, "Elle has no reason to believe that Lindsay Lohan was in any way responsible and has no further comment to make."
Given Lohan's history, it was hard for outsiders not to speculate otherwise.
April 2010: Lindsay Lohan is named a suspect in the theft of a $35,000 Rolex watch. Apparently a friend of Lindsay's left the watch at the actress' house and never saw it again—until Lindsay was pictured wearing a timepiece that looked strikingly similar. Those paparazzi will get you every time! Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, denied the allegations.
